The Vine Dress Code

General

  • Hair should always be neatly secured away from the face.

  • No T-shirts, cheer/athletic shorts, basketball shorts, jeans, or baggy clothing, except in hip-hop classes. It is hard to critique technique in loose clothing. Loose clothing may be worn as cover-ups, but needs to be removed before class begins.

  • No dangling jewelry

  • Any brand of tights is acceptable for class if you would like to wear tights. They are not required for classes. However, specific tights may be required for performances and if so, will be included on your costume checklist once costumes arrive.

  • Recommended dance shoes listed below are available at Discount Dance Supply via the link at the bottom of your class dress code.

  • If you choose not to purchase the recommended shoes, please try to match the recommended version as much as possible. Same color and style (low/high heel, easy strap/lace-up, solid sole/flex sole, etc.)

    Acro Classes

  • Leotard and/or Fitted Dancewear/Shorts

  • No tights or footless tights

  • No shoes

    Hip Hop Classes

  • Most any dance clothing, sweatpants, athletic wear, shorts, t-shirts, tanks are all acceptable.

  • Shoes worn for hip hop are clean "dance class only" tennis shoes that are not worn outside or

    for normal everyday use. This protects our dance floors and helps keep them in good condition

    and free from grease, dirt, etc.

  • Specific hip hop sneakers may be needed for performances/recital.
